1. Who We Are
WaveShift provides AI-powered media translation, dubbing, and related processing tools. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your choices.
2. Data We Collect
- Account and authentication data: email address, display name, profile image, login provider, session identifiers, and security logs.
- Chrome extension data: an extension access token used to authenticate API calls. The Chrome Web Store extension does not read browser cookies. The manually installed sideload extension can optionally encrypt and upload a small allowlist of Bilibili login cookies only when you enable that setting for Bilibili translation tasks.
- Media and workflow data: files you upload, generated subtitles/audio/video outputs, processing status, and configuration settings.
- Technical and usage data: device/browser metadata, request logs, error logs, security telemetry, page paths, product actions, and limited campaign attribution such as UTM values and the referring hostname. We do not include full page URLs, query strings, uploaded file names, media source URLs, cookies, tokens, or raw IP addresses in product analytics events.
- Billing data: payment status from payment providers. We do not store full payment card numbers.
3. How We Use Data
- To create and secure your account.
- To process uploaded media and deliver requested outputs.
- To maintain reliability, prevent abuse, and troubleshoot failures.
- To understand product adoption, measure campaign outcomes, and improve onboarding and conversion flows.
- To provide customer support and service notices.
- To meet legal, security, and compliance obligations.
4. Google Sign-In Data Use
If you choose Google Sign-In, WaveShift only requests basic identity scopes required for authentication, such as openid, email, and profile.
WaveShift's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
- We use Google account data only for authentication and account management.
- We do not sell Google user data.
- We do not use Google user data for advertising purposes.
- You can revoke WaveShift's access at any time in your Google account permissions settings.
5. Cookies and Session Storage
We use essential cookies to keep you signed in, protect sessions, remember interface preferences, and maintain security. Product analytics uses session storage for a random identifier and limited campaign attribution within the current browser tab. It does not add a persistent analytics cookie, and the session values expire when that tab session ends.
6. Data Sharing
We share data only with service providers needed to run WaveShift, such as cloud hosting, email delivery, and payment infrastructure, and only for service operations, security, and legal compliance.
7. Data Retention
We retain account and processing records only as long as necessary for service delivery, security, financial reconciliation, and legal obligations. You may request account deletion as described below.
8. Security
We apply reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, including encrypted transport, access control, and operational monitoring. No system is perfectly secure, but we continuously improve protections.
9. Your Rights and Choices
Subject to applicable law, you may request access, correction, export, or deletion of your personal data. Contact us at support@waveshift.net.
10. Children's Privacy
WaveShift is not intended for children under 13, or a higher age where required by local law. If you believe a child provided personal data, contact us for removal.
11. Policy Updates
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
